Developed by Edge Hill University, Every Child Counts (ECC) is a suite of evidence-based interventions that transform learning outcomes and empower educators to close gaps and accelerate progress in maths

Trusted by schools across the country, it’s a cost-effective way to support the development of mastery in maths.

ECC equips teaching assistants and link teachers from KS1-3 with the tools and training to deliver structured, engaging sessions that make a measurable impact.

ECC Impact

  • Children typically make three to four times the expected progress
  • 93% of pupils showed increased confidence and interest in maths
  • Teaching Assistants develop subject knowledge and confidence in providing maths support
  • Underpinned by EEF research, strengthens the strategic use of Pupil Premium funding

"I wish this intervention had been available when I was taught in primary school!"

How ECC Works

  • Online training for teachers and teaching assistants to support the identification of misconceptions and strategies to intervene effectively
  • Programme of 24-30 episodic lessons to be delivered 3 times a week
  • High-quality resource pack and detailed lesson plans to support effective implementation

All programmes include diagnostic assessments, ready-made lesson plans, and high-quality resources, ensuring interventions are tailored and effective.

Training also provides access to ECC’s protected online platform for resources and data analysis.
