Working in partnership with Liverpool City Council, Public Health Liverpool, and the Oliver King Foundation, the Liverpool Cardiac Emergency Readiness Initiative will help ensure schools are fully prepared to respond quickly and confidently in the event of a cardiac arrest.

Alongside the Oliver King Foundation, SIL will coordinate a training programme for school staff to raise awareness among pupils and communities of life-saving skills and emergency readiness.

Niki Horton, Health & Wellbeing Manager at SIL, said:

“At SIL, everything we do is rooted in informing action, strengthening practice and improving outcomes.

The first session at Rice Lane Primary School was a real success, with excellent engagement from staff and students throughout.

This initiative will help ensure children, young people and the wider school community have the skills and confidence to act when it matters most.”

Further training dates will be shared with schools in the coming weeks, with a total of 18 sessions running until March 2027.
