SIL CEO Ajay Sethi reflects on how redefining purpose and objectives across the company has led to re-evaluating the wider SIL brand.

“You may have noticed some changes with our branding in recent weeks.
Over the last 12 months, it’s become clear that School Improvement Liverpool is a name that no longer fully represents who SIL is as a company.
It suggests that we serve only a specific geographic area and function - when in reality, our services extend far beyond these boundaries.
We also recognised that many of our customers, stakeholders, and partners already refer to us as “SIL.”
So, after careful consideration, we will officially transition from School Improvement Liverpool to SIL - a name that acknowledges broader impact.
You may see this as either a pragmatic move or a stroke of creativity!
Our name may have changed (ever so slightly) but our purpose, vision, values, and corporate objectives haven’t.
Support: Support and enable schools and educational settings to improve and provide the best education to their children and young people. We will support this through our relationships, knowledge, responsive services, training, and products.
Inspire: Inspiring educators. stakeholders, customers, and championing children and young people.
Learn: We learn with and for our schools/ settings so that children have the best learning opportunities.
We know that school improvement is a system challenge and SIL is a part of that system - so name aside, it’s business as usual for us - supporting educational settings to enable every child and young person to develop, learn, stay safe and achieve."
