Course Overview
This session will provide an overview of school performance measures, led by guest trainer Duncan Baldwin
Duncan is an Excellence and Improvement Partner for three secondary schools in Liverpool and regularly delivers training on assessment and school performance to school leaders. He is a former headteacher and Deputy Director of Policy at the Association of School and College Leaders. He is a policy advisor for the Confederation of School Trusts
What will it cover?
This course will cover:
· The national statutory assessments, from Reception through to GCSE, illustrated by the types of questions children face in reading and mathematics at different ages.
· Key principles when using data in any setting and live issues in accountability, such as reform to Progress 8.
· How governors can assure themselves about their school’s performance.
· Questions for governors to ask school leaders when exploring their school’s result
