Course Overview
Violence against women and girls continues to be a significant safeguarding priority. The UK Government’s Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy emphasises the critical role of education as early prevention, stating that schools must help children recognise harmful attitudes, challenge misogyny, and develop healthy, respectful relationships.
This CPD equips educators with the knowledge and tools to address misogyny and harmful sexual behaviours through their PSHE programme
Why Attend?
The revised RSHE statutory guidance strengthens the role of schools in preventing violence against women and girls by requiring them to:
· Explicitly teach respectful relationships, consent, equality, and challenging gender-based stereotypes
· Address online misogyny, pornography myths, harmful influencers and the manosphere
· Teach pupils how to seek help, challenge unsafe behaviour, and recognise coercive control
· Deliver all RSHE in a sequenced, developmental, age appropriate model
What will it cover?
· Supports schools in developing an accurate understanding of the drivers of VAWG, including online misogyny, peer on peer harmful sexual behaviours, harmful social norms and media influence.
· Equips teachers with the tools to deliver RSHE content that meets the new 2026 RSHE requirements, including teaching about respect, equality, consent, and digital resilience.
· Embeds a public health, whole-system approach to preventing gender based violence.
· Improves schools’ ability to recognise early indicators of misogyny, respond to concerns, and challenge harmful attitudes safely and effectively.
