About the Role

SIL are seeking a passionate and experienced professional to support schools across Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area in improving the wellbeing and educational outcomes of all children and young people. This role is central to promoting emotional, mental and physical health through the development of high-quality training, innovative projects and strong partnerships between schools and external providers.

Working closely with Headteachers, senior leaders, school staff and children, you will build trusted relationships and provide strategic and practical support to help embed a positive, inclusive culture where wellbeing is prioritised for both pupils and staff. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering impactful wellbeing programmes, supporting sustainable leadership and whole-school approaches to health and inclusion.

The role involves leading the design, development and delivery of wellbeing initiatives, including emotional and mental health, bereavement support and proactive resilience-building approaches. You will create engaging resources and toolkits, deliver training to school staff, and work directly with children and young people through age-appropriate sessions that strengthen wellbeing and positive mental health.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role.  You will work with other strategic stakeholders to identify and secure funding, ensuring services and interventions meet local needs and deliver measurable impact. You will also support schools in developing targeted provision for vulnerable pupils and advise on monitoring and evidencing outcomes, including meeting Ofsted expectations around wellbeing.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference at both a strategic and operational level, helping to create healthier, more resilient school communities across the region.

A secondment would be considered for the right candidate.
