About the Role

About the Role:
This is a hands-on role working in our Food Technology room, where you'll play a vital part in ensuring a clean, safe and well-equipped environment for learning. You’ll support our students 
during practical cooking sessions, help prepare ingredients and equipment, and model good kitchen practice. You’ll also work closely with teachers to promote independence, communication, 
and essential life skills among students with a range of needs.

Key Responsibilities Include:
-Preparing, maintaining, and organising the Food Tech room and equipment
-Supporting students during cooking lessons, modelling food preparation and safety
-Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety standards
-Ordering and managing stock
-Contributing to whole-school food and life skills initiatives

Personal Qualities

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who is practical, proactive, and caring, with a genuine interest in supporting students with autism. You should be confident in a kitchen setting and able to work 
flexibly to meet the varied needs of our learners.

Essential:
Level 2 in English and Maths
Knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures
Experience supporting children or young people
High levels of empathy, patience, and emotional resilience

Desirable:
Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to train)
Emergency First Aid qualification
Experience in a specialist setting
Knowledge of autism and associated needs
